The Royal Wedding…

Coming from the U.K., a country steeped in history, and following my chosen career as an English Toastmaster, there is no reason why I should not be excited about the forthcoming ‘Royal Wedding’. After all, weddings are a large part of my business, but somehow I find myself at a loss at not being able show the same amount of excitement as those on TV in the United States of America.
The ‘Royal Wedding’ has been mentioned every day for the last two weeks on the television and this week we will be subjected to daily views from American experts guessing what the wedding dress will look like, what the ceremony will be like, etc., etc., etc.
I have also had to listen to some of these experts and celebrities doing the most appalling English accents, but all reminiscent of Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins, who tried but failed miserably at doing a ‘Cockney’ ( East London ) accent.
So enough of the predictions and impressions… next Friday just sit back and watch the the pomp, ceremony and style that only the English can do… and to all Wedding Planners from outside the U.K. I say … Read ‘em and weep.
